Contact Has Already Done What You’re Asking Them to Do
Many of our texting workflows ask people to do something, such as call their representative about an issue or vote in an election. Sometimes we reach people who’ve already done the action we’re texting about.
If They’ve Already Called Their Representative
Mark them as “Yes,” but also check to see if there’s a script asking them for further interaction, for example calling their rep’s local offices instead of the DC one. Remind them that it doesn’t hurt to call frequently/every day, and make liberal use of the thank you scripts!
If They’ve Already Voted
Follow the workflow instructions for how to respond when someone has already voted. It’s likely that you need to use a specific tag and script.
