We are seeking a Head of Sales & Business Development for our consulting practice. We offer consultancy services to Democratic and progressive clients nationally for elections and advocacy efforts at all levels of government.
This role reports to the Founding CEO and manages a team of 3-5 responsible for sales, partnerships, market research, and marketing. You will be responsible for our efforts to maximize our consulting firm’s contribution to the Democratic field in 2019 and 2020, as well as driving our revenue.
As a candidate, you will have led a business expansion into new markets and products, ideally in consulting services with political, advocacy, or government clients. A portion of the work will be determining which markets to enter, including government, advocacy, fundraising or other mission-aligned markets for text-based communication. The other portion will be managing and scaling our political consulting work based on our existing book of business, including positioning us for 2019 statewide races and national 2020 races. You will leverage our advisory board including senior aides to Nancy Pelosi and the co-founder of Hustle.
Experience working in politics at the national or statewide level is preferred, but not required. However, a passion for fighting fascism in alignment with our mission is mandatory. We are a devoted and focused group with varied backgrounds and seek a leader who shares the same sentiment.

Resistance Labs incubates new initiatives to fill gaps in the progressive ecosystem via text. We’ve launched projects that have recruited over 100k new activists on behalf of no-budget rural organizers and worked with state Democratic Parties to recruit hundreds of local candidates for office.
We raise funds for these projects from foundations, major political c3 and c4 donors, and hundreds of small one-time and monthly givers. We raise small amounts of funds both for short-term projects – such as voter registration with the NAACP before Doug Jones’ election – and over $1M for Contest Every Race. Most of our fundraising success thus far has come from Democracy Alliance and New Media Ventures donors as well as the CEO’s personal contacts.
Our Fundraising Associate will support fundraising across various programs, ensure data across fundraising streams is managed appropriately, conduct outreach, and maintain an engagement calendar with past and potential funders.
They will be responsible for the growth of Resistance Labs and play a crucial role in incubating new projects to register new voters, recruit candidates and impact policy and elections. Working closely with the CEO, they will have room to share their creativity around program ideation, being involved in the formation at the earliest stages of new programs.
