We’ve recruited 1,270 candidates in red areas and run texting programs for 40 clients including the future AZ governor. The Volunteer Success Associate (Support & Quality) ensures that our volunteer and client communities are happy by providing unparalleled support and quality management. You’re self-directed, and like to take ownership to solve problems where you see them and help out where’s needed. No task is too small for you, but you’re constantly thinking about smarter, faster ways to accomplish what you’re doing without sacrificing performance. You’re the ultimate team player who cares about the our volunteers and clients and you’re excited to share your knowledge to help them succeed.


What You’ll Do
  • Monitor and review text conversations for quality
  • Answer questions and resolve problems for volunteers quickly and with highest quality delivery using various support platforms (Slack, email, social media)
  • Become an “expert” on support processes and make recommendations to improve quality for maximizing volunteer and client satisfaction
  • Identify and suggest ways to remove barriers to volunteer success wherever they originate (tools, training, etc)

Nice to Haves

Role Logistics

This role will require working on weekends during PST day hours (sometime between 9am – 9pm PST) on a scheduled shift. Schedules will likely be in a 4×10 format, and pay will be hourly with the amount based on location. This is a remote position so you can be based anywhere in the United States, though the San Francisco Bay Area is helpful. You must have your own computer and access to high-speed internet. Initially this will be a one-month contract with the possibility of extension and growth into other positions on the team; full-time (40 hours/week) is preferred, but we’re open to exploring part-time availability.



Resistance Labs is the leading peer to peer texting movement management service. We used Hustle to reach 163,000 black and female voters for the NAACP before Doug Jone’s won. We have sent over 7 million texts through over 5,000 texting programs for hundreds of groups and candidates in 46 states. Every dollar of revenue brought in as consultants supports our efforts to rebuild the Democratic Party from the ground up, recruiting candidates for every office and stopping Trump’s agenda in rural, disinvested communities.


We’re hiring a trustworthy network builder and campaign executor to manage work with significant political players in 2018.


You have an existing set of relationships and deep understanding about how campaigns work. You’ve ideally run national-level texting programs, managed races or IE’s, and are excited by the idea of helping the Democratic party up it’s game with peer to peer text, while building Resistance Labs as an asset for creating power in for Democrats in disinvested places.



You’ll be a member of our leadership team, bringing in clients, helping to drive strategy for the work that we do and managing major clients with support. Required Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of senior political management or consulting experience at leading firms
  • 6+ years working in field, politics or advocacy

The Operations Associate is a jack-of-all-trades, someone who’s a generalist that can learn quickly and become an expert at anything. You’re self directed, and like to take ownership to solve problems where you see them and help out where’s needed. No task is too small for you (Data entry, responding to volunteer questions, event logistics? No problem!), but you’re constantly thinking about smarter, faster ways to accomplish what you’re doing without sacrificing quality. You’re the ultimate team player who can pinch hit to push projects to completion.


The role will give you unparalleled visibility into the entire workings of a very complex entity, spanning legal, fundraising, client management, data analysis and business strategy.  It will also set up the right candidate to move into a leadership position over time.


What You’ll Do:



  • Support our founder in fundraising in whatever capacity is needed – data management, scheduling, proposal editing, event support, etc.
  • Archive relevant media and photos for updates and grants

Texting Management

  • Communicate with volunteers to celebrate successes and explain new opportunities for leadership
  • Support volunteer leaders in running their own text banks by training trainers
  • Ensure volunteer success by answering questions in Slack and on Facebook
  • Setup and launch texting campaigns in our content management tool


  • Ensure that our data is clean, updated, and organized
  • Support our organizing program managers to help them on key tasks
  • Find ways to make our processes more efficient and better documented


Desired Skills:


  • Exceptional ability to learn, communicate about and manage new work areas
  • Experience working on a political campaign
  • Comfort in Excel/Google Sheets to do basic data analysis and visualization (build charts, use pivot tables and functions like vlookups/split)
  • Community management, customer service, or account management experience
  • Strong attention to detail; well organized
  • Excellent communication skills and willingness to hop on frequent video calls, especially if remote
  • Ability to work and manage projects independently


Contract and Compensation:

Contract begins as soon as possible. Additionally, as we grow, responsibilities and title may shift rapidly.



We’re funded by a few dozen major donors and hundreds of small donors. Until now, these relationships have all been managed by the founder. Your job will be to steward these relationships and build new ones with potential key supporters.


You will report to the founder and be a key part of the leadership team driving the direction of the organization.  Since your “clients” will be our donors, you will be tasked with directing the rest of the team to gather persuasive metrics that quantify our impact.


You are an obsessive and strategic networker and have a talent for knowing just how to and when to ask for meetings with powerful people. You have experience thinking at high levels about how to measure impact in the political advocacy and electoral space. You are excellent at managing your seniors’ time and pushing a project forward in a chaotic context.




  • 4 years of development experience, especially in the political or c4 space
  • At least 2 years of major gift development
  • Strong existing network of relevant potential donors
  • Exceptional interpersonal skill and communications ability
  • Demonstrated drive to rebuild progressive infrastructure across the country
  • Experience with donor advising or impact consulting or research
  • Experience as executive assistance or chief of staff to a founder or CEO
  • Ability to work long hours, evenings and weekends
  • Experience with donor research databases and Salesforce


Compensation and Contract


This is a one year contract at $60-85,000 with health benefits. Bay Area preferred. Salary may be re-negotiated after 6 months if fundraising targets are met.



You will manage relationships and support campaign clients fighting to win key races across the country. You’re excellent at managing fast moving projects and excited to learn about how great campaigns win. You’ll be copy-editing scripts, working closely with campaigns and our senior staff, reviewing the work of volunteer texters, and ensuring that our texting is integrated with field programs.



  • At least one cycle working for a campaign, electoral preferred
  • Experience with VAN, Hustle, Salesforce or data management preferred
  • Experience managing projects with significant data complexity
  • Clear and direct communicator
  • Impeccable interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organization and detail-oriented
  • Consulting, analysis or report-creation experience

Compensation and Contract


Full-time. Compensation will be based on experience, includes basic health benefits. Bay Area or DC preferred, but not required as this is a remote position.
